A Tradition of Helping

Previously known as Grace Immigrant Outreach and founded at Grace Church in the Village of Millbrook, we have been an integral part of the Northeast Dutchess community for almost two decades. We serve the rural towns of Pine Plains, Amenia, Stanfordville, Millbrook, and Dover.

Evelyn Garzetta, Executive Director

Evelyn has been at the heart of the immigrant community in Northeast Dutchess County since she moved here in 2008 looking for ways to help the people who need it most. Famous for her ability to solve almost any problem, Evelyn made GIO, now NEDIS, an integral resource.

Mark joined NEDIS in 2021 after a thirty-year career in independent schools. He manages the Engaging People in Change program, which provides a space for high school kids from immigrant families to gather and talk about issues relevant specifically to them. Mark also runs the Dutchess Academic Mentoring program.

Long-time Dutchess County resident Liz Conti joined the NEDIS team as our Social Worker in 2022. Prior to receiving her Master in Social Work from New York University, she taught English in Spain and Spanish in New York. Liz has lived in Manhattan, London, and Madrid.
