What We Do
We are dedicated to serving the immigrant community in Northeast Dutchess County. We are a biligual, non-profit organization, and all of our services are free.
Friday food distribution
Direct aid programs
Referral services
We get our produce from local CSA farms, and we choose our groceries based on the feedback from our clients with special attention to cultural preferences.
With the generous support of the Berkshire-Taconic Foundation, we provide emergency help to those who need it for rent, utilities and other essentials. Our staff is experienced in helping people navigate difficult times.
Our deep contacts in the community allow us to help people find the expert consultations they need on legal, medical or other questions.
In addition to addressing urgent needs, NEDIS offers long-term attention to the concerns of the community
Academic Mentoring
Our experienced teachers help students and their families navigate schools. We provide one-on-one tutoring, help with communicating with school personnel, and guidance in how to set long-term goals
Women's Leadership
Women selected for this program will be taught vital skills necessary to serve as community leaders. Each participant will be provided with a Chromebook, which she will keep when she completes the programs

English as a New Language
Weekly classes at several locations and at times designed to to be available to working adults help students of all levels -- beginner to advanced -- develop their English language skills
Youth Engagement
Every Sunday, we host EPIC (Engaging People in Change), a group of young people who talk about the issues most important to them and look for ways to find solutions. We also support 4H programs in local schools.
