Who We are

Evelyn Garzetta
Founder

Evelyn has been at the heart of the immigrant community in Northeast Dutchess County since 2008, looking for ways to help the people who need it most. Famous for her ability to solve almost any problem, Evelyn began by making Grace Immigrant Outreach, a program of Grace Church a crucial resources for the people in our community. As the immigrant community here grew, she expanded her efforts beyond English as a New Language courses to food distribution case work, outreach and advocacy, and academic mentoring.Evelyn retired in 2024, leaving behind a lasting legacy of service to Northeast Dutchess County.

Mark Clizbe
Director

Mark Clizbe has more than 30 years of experience as a classroom teacher, more than 20 of them here in Dutchess County. Since 2021, he also worked as a tutor-advocate for the Migrant Education Program, a federally-funded, state-supervised program based at the State University of New Paltz.

Advisory Board

A former economist at JP Morgan and a former senior scholar at the Jerome Levy Economics Institute at Bard College, Walter was part of the group that founded Grace Latino Outreach in Millbrook, which evolved into Northeast Dutchess Immigrant Services led by Evelyn Garzetta. He has been an advocate for local immigrant community for more than twenty years.

Walter Cadette

Nicole has worked in philanthropy for more than 20 years for a variety of environmental, youth development, arts, and community service organizations, and has experience in grant writing, board relations, major gifts, planned giving, and special events. She is currently the Director of Development at Cary Institute for Ecosystem Studies.

Nicole Baker
Alison Canton

Allie is a healthcare and nonprofit lawyer based in Millbrook, and has over two decades of experience working across startups, universities, nonprofits and legal firms. She also serves as the chair of the Institutional Review Board for the Vera Institute of Justice and as an Advisory Board member for the CUNY Institute for State & Local Governance. On a personal note, she is also a mother and the daughter of a Honduran immigrant. 

Ali graduated from Millbrook School in 2006, where she studied with Mark Clizbe. She began her professional career and Pricewaterhouse Cooper as part of the Healthcare Advisory Consulting Practice. She is now Director of Business Aviation at Alvarez and Marsal. She and her husband, Mike, own and manage a local farm.
