Our People

These are just a few of the faces behind the NEDIS community, the others being our community partners, volunteers, and most importantly, the communities that we serve.

Evelyn Garzetta

Executive Director

Evelyn has been at the heart of the immigrant community in Northeast Dutchess County since 2008, looking for ways to help the people who need it most. Famous for her ability to solve almost any problem, Evelyn made GIO, now NEDIS, an integral resource.

Mark Clizbe

Program Director

Mark joined NEDIS in 2021 after a thirty-year career in independent schools. He manages the Engaging People in Change (EPIC) program, which provides a space for high school students from immigrant families to gather and talk about issues relevant specifically to them. Mark also runs the Academic Mentoring Program.

Freddy Gonzalez

Outreach Director

Hello! My name is Freddy Gonzalez and I am the new Outreach Director/Caseworker with Northeast Dutchess Immigrant Services. I am so excited and honored to be joining this amazing NEDIS family! I am committed to encouraging, supporting, and empowering our community members to become their best selves. My primary task is to provide ALL with a seamless connection to available resources in Northeast Dutchess.

Ben York

Operations Coordinator

Ben joined NEDIS in the fall of 2022 as a member of the year-long Grace Year program. Along with NEDIS staff, he coordinates the weekly food distribution, teaches ENL, and assists the executive director. Ben will remain with NEDIS after his Grace Year fellowship and continue to assist in strategic planning.
