We organize English as a New Language classes for non-English speaking adults at beginner and advanced levels. Classes are held during the academic year and in a variety of locations across Northeast Dutchess County. Our adult learners are placed in a class suitable for their level of English.

NEDIS offers one-on-one tutoring for immigrant youth to help them succeed in their education. As part of the Academic Mentoring Program, NEDIS staff also offers help for parents and families to navigate communication with the school district and their child's teachers and school administrators.

We collaborate with the Cornell Cooperative Extension 4H staff to host an after school literacy program at Wingdale Elementary School. Our staff coordinate with the program leader to make the program accessible to Spanish-speaking students.

The 4H Literacy Program conducts club sessions at Wingdale Elementary, Wingdale, NY. If your child is a Wingdale Elementary student in the 1st or 2nd grade, get in touch with the Operations Coordinator to find out when the next session begins.
